a poem a day by A.J.Rao

Rain and lights

You are thinking of pain on a night.
There is a bye-pass road being laid
Everything  is quiet outside an ICU,
With fear fluttering in heart’s bird.

Rain and lights were unreal to sky.
But a  joy fluttered in small hearts.
Chilly spluttered  its serial bursts.
Dragonflies whizzed past memory.

Joy refuses to be the damp cracker.
There is wet rain in a night of sky.
Its soft patter comes alive in body.
Hearts are aflutter with new hope.
