we were asked what elephant was.
we were of course blind in the core.
we felt a trunk and said it was god.
trunk curved to the right, held fruit.
tiny eyes were set above the trunk.
trunk felt soft on this hairless head,
wet and heavy ,tickling an old body.
elephant had big stomach of sweets,
it would pat on and moon laughed.
we laughed on a stomach in splits.
beware do not espy the moon in sky
and get blamed for others’ faults.
asked who god is ,and we are blind,
we say he is trunk wet on our head,
he who drowns on an eleventh day.
