a poem a day by A.J.Rao

When poet has fears of ceasing to be
Poet stands alone in wide wild world,
Fears beauty and  love ceasing  to be.

Involuntary acts of poet or otherwise,
Fears are oftener than a ceasing to be
But of ceasing poetry at night’s stars.

Poetry stops a star short of the night.
I  and thee ,our  body will cease to be.
The night star is one less on thy face.

Ceasing poem is poet’s voluntary act
Of moving away from stars and thee.
Poet ceases stars  instead of ceasing.

(Referring to John Keats’ poem “When I have fears that I may cease to be“)
