Spring

Priest and poet sings a spring thing
Like a thrush with lightnings songs
From a tree brushing the sky’s blue.

Weeds shoot through a living wheel
But weeds are a spring too, not ones
Wayward boys went under and over.

Priestly poet goes back to sin garden
Spring with snakes and temptresses
To save the lambs from fruits of sin.

Spring starts in nipple-size mangoes.
The neem flowers drop like snowfall.
But no weeds tempt a time of winter.

(referring to the  “spring” poem by Gerard Manley Hopkins)
