No future guarantee

Her irony is in her portable poetry
Everything about a parked bottom,
Woman not sanctioning the impure
With hardly any complaints so far.

(Lady might not have put a record
On gramophone, not stooping low.)

Lovely ladies may still read poetry
Of the pure kind, with end rhymes,
Conquer hearts by a single candle.
But they offer no future guarantee.

( on Dorothy parker’s poem “Interview”)
