Monospace

In a monospace the woman knows
What it is to turn someone’s widow
When some one is an empty space,
The kind of window of opportunity
With ‘n’ missing like a gap in teeth.

This is your monospace of darkness
When a space in teeth turns cavern
And the time when fierce gales blow
With whoosh like in mountain pass.

You are someone’s once better half
Now the other half and worse for it,
You who swore with him to stick by
For better then and now the worse,
The widow of opportunity in space
Until you are a monospace yourself.
